Welcome to the Art by Sy Fine Art Gallery and Shop. This space has been set up to promote the artwork of Symond Whittle, a self taught artist working with Oil Painting and Sculpture, Fine Art Prints and Art Cards, based at his studio in Mid-Wales.

The images you see on the web site are at low resolution and watermarked to avoid unauthorised reproduction of the art in the gallery. This is not the case with any artwork purchased from Art by Sy. Oil Paintings, Sculptures and reproductions of artwork are being produced at the highest quality.

The artwork is varied in style, method and content, as Symond (the artist) enjoys taking on new challenges with every piece. Oil Paintings are left for approximately eight months to dry before being varnished twice. Sculptures are made from a form of Air-hardening clay built up in layers over a metal frame, they are then sanded and engraved before being varnished three times.
